Look what I found in my garden this afternoon!! It's the size of a ostrich egg and is suspended between leaves of a wild iris. I say "is" because the nest is still there, but we've sprayed all the hundreds of spiderlings that were living in it.
Thankfully we also found the mother Rain Spider close by. She was massive! And I was too scared to go closer to take a photo of her (and I was trying to keep Bradley and Connor away from them).
I know I've posted about loving animals being important on my other blog today, so killing them seems a bit two-faced, but you have to remember that I have 2 kids running around the garden and their safety is much more important that these spiders.

I would have thought something was wrong with you if you didn't say you sprayed the nest. Ick. I am not a fan of spiders at all... but those would give me nightmares!!!
That's some super dooper mozzie killers there. But a little bit too much of them :)
Wow! This is a great capture but I feel a little bit scared of them.
I really should not have come to look at your blog just before bed-time...this picture is going to give me nightmares Jeanette LOL
I hope you make a plan to get rid of them one way or the other - SOON :)
