Abandoned
I noticed how this property had changed a few weeks ago, and stopped on Beyers Naude Drive today to take photos. It used to be a plant nursery. These 2 buildings were probably staff quarters and have been abandoned, but the main house has now got squatters in it (who were watching me very curiously. I didn't feel threatened by them at all).
OMW did I have fun though, I want to go back there when I'm not wearing a LBD and high heels to take more shots :)
I love this picket fence next to the ruin, it's so out of place.

Lilac tulips
I bought a bunch of lilacy purple tulips from a florist yesterday. They're absolutely beautiful, but oh man, were they difficult to photograph... I just can't get the colours to come out, and when I do, the shot is boring.
Having fun with the contrasting in Photoshop
Breakfast at Lanseria
We took the boys to Lanseria airport, just outside Randburg, today to watch the planes. Connor is fascinated with planes flying over the house, so we thought that he would enjoy it... and he did.
We had breakfast at Wings restaurant in the terminal building. It was a lovely meal and the setting is perfect... on the viewing deck... and they have a jumping castle for the kids.
So the boys were in their element, running between the jumping castle and the viewing windows.. which meant that Lance and I had to keep lifting them up to see planes land and take-off. LOL!

Excuse the shadows... I took the photo through the viewing glass.

Green Thumb Sunday - Strelitzia Reginae
I haven't taken part in this challenge in a while, and I noticed my strelitzias starting to flower today... sooo I just had to take some pics... especially when I noticed the weird looking bud!

Autumn at Emmerentia Dam
We took the boys to Emmerentia Dam this afternoon to feed the ducks... or rather the geese as the ducks were too slow... and so that I could get some Autumn shots for the Three Corners challenge later this week :)

Playing in the leaves

I took Bradley there in October 2007 the last time... here is the link to my post then, which incidentally is one of the most popular pages on my blog.
Connor had never fed them before, and clutched at his bread... he wouldn't throw it. LOL!

Photohunt: Sign at Ushaka
We took the kids to Ushaka in Durban to see the aquarium and dolphin show on one of the non-beach days this week (it was too cold). As soon as I saw this sign, I knew this would be my post for today :)
The shark tank
... and the dolphins. This is always my favourite part :)

I had considered using this as my sign post too. The whole aim behind the show is environmental awareness.
Connor watching the ray. He absolutely LOVED the aquarium, but was a bit bored with the dolphin show. He was in awe of all the fish, especially the big ones.

Ramsgate at dusk
We took the boys to the Waffle House in Ramsgate as a treat on the Monday. The weather had been extremely mizz and we'd been inside all day. And apart from the most amazing waffles, the views of the lagoon and the beach were just beautiful!

Last Saturday at Shelly Beach
I took these photos on our walk on the beach in the evening. We just had to walk across a boardwalk that stretched across the top of the narrow marine reserve to get to the most gorgeous beach. It's not a swimming beach because of all the rocks, so it was quite deserted as you can see.

Skywatch Friday #5
We drove home from the Natal south coast today, and I took these shots from the car on the N3 freeway between Mooi River and Harrismith.
I know it's small, but the moon is visible in each one of the photos. I was trying to get a shot of the moon and the landscape, not easy at 130kph ;) It's a pity that there's a reflection from inside the car in the last shot.

Sunrise from Shelly Beach
Helloooo chinabeans :) I'm back. Hope you're all looking out for my posts ;)
I've been in Shelly Beach for the last week, and boy have I missed the 'net. Next time I'll organise a 3G card or something to stay in touch.
We stayed at the MOST gorgeous place, Azure View in Bondi Beach Resort. The only thing marring the view of the sea was a marine reserve, so I can't really complain. And the pics on the link to the flat... the place looks EXACTLY like that!! Absolutely stunning!
Here's a little something to whet your appetites... the sunrise yesterday morning from our balcony :)

The colour is close in this photo, but I don't like the shot.
