Photohunt: Candy

I didn't take these today, because I was away (see my previous post). I thought of this moment as soon as I remembered what the theme was today!

Connor's first taste of Easter Eggs in February this year.

"Hmmm, yummy!"

"I wonder if I can stuff the whole thing in my mouth?"

Breakfast at Lanseria

We took the boys to Lanseria airport, just outside Randburg, today to watch the planes. Connor is fascinated with planes flying over the house, so we thought that he would enjoy it... and he did.
We had breakfast at Wings restaurant in the terminal building. It was a lovely meal and the setting is perfect... on the viewing deck... and they have a jumping castle for the kids.
So the boys were in their element, running between the jumping castle and the viewing windows.. which meant that Lance and I had to keep lifting them up to see planes land and take-off. LOL!

Excuse the shadows... I took the photo through the viewing glass.

Laura is 30

Laura's 30th birthday party was last night at Tony's Spaghetti Grill. It was a stunning evening with fabulous food... plenty of wine... and good friends. What more could you ask for?

The decor we strung up behind the table
Opening presentsI love this photo. There were bottles of wine lit up along the entire wall, and I couldn't resist trying to get a shot of the bottles without the flash.

Photohunt: Twisted

photohuntersbz9

These are a South African delicacy... the koeksister. I prefer the first photo, but the second one shows that it's a twisted piece of dough that's been fried in syrup. They're sickly sweet, and very yummy!
I went and bought them especially this morning for today's shot. It's far too uch work to make myself ;).
This is the first time I've taken shots of food like this, and I don't think I'll be a food stylist any time soon. LOL!

The perfect tomato

... and then the MASSIVE mishapen one.

Tiny butterfly on the brinjal plant. It was the size of a 20c piece.

Supper at Spur

There were rolling backouts in Joburg today due to "load shedding" (Eskom's way to try and stop people using electricity - bizarre but true!). So we joined Madi, Marlise and their families at the local Spur for supper (they have a generator and a cool play area for the kids).
This isn't exactly the most riviting photo I've ever taken, so I tried a trick with the colours.

National Braai Day

We had a braai at home today with friends (it's a public holiday today - Heritage Day). I didn't feel like steak and chops etc, so I made Jamie Oliver burgers. Yum!
So in honour of National Braai Day, I just had to post a photo of the food cooking.
