To Parys and back...

We went to Parys today to visit MIL (Lance's mom for those who don't understand the abbreviation), so of course I took my trusty camera. These photos were taken from the moving car.

Taken on the Freestate side of the Vaal River, close to Parys.

A street sign in Parys. It's made out of an old car registration plate, and has been painted by a resident.

My rural ruins of the day. The first one is close to Parys, and the other closer to Jo'burg.

Great ruins - and the animals grazing are an added bonus!

You were close to me :) Klerksdorp is not far from Parys...my husband actually plays golf there often.

Thanks for the comments! You guys were too fast for me. LOL! I decided there were too many photos, so I took 2 away - they're on my Flickr now.

Lovely Landscape photo's Jeanette...I'm sure the drive is one of your favourite parts of visiting your MIL ;)

Hey Jenty - thanks for stopping by our blog (for visiting regularly in fact). This is the first time I've seen your blog and I must say that you have some really nice photos. I specifically like the top one for today. The desaturated look of the hill contrasts nicely with the green of the tree and the brown of the... ant hills (at least I think they're ant hills). The sky's pastel colouring crowns the scene beautifully.

Thanks Paul. I think they are ant hills.

Very nice pictures. I throughly enjoyed them. The animals grazing in the field was my favorite.

hi, hopped across from Max's blog. I like your photos, and yes.... the one of the ruin with the sheep is my favourite too! (and going back over older posts, don't apologise for the flowers, they are lovely!)
