Smokey haze

PROJECT BLACK : TAKE FOUR

We drove to Parys in the Freestate today to visit MIL (it's about 1 1/2 hours drive from Johannesburg). These are very typical scenes during winter in these parts. It's VERY dry at the moment, so the veld (open grass) is very flammable.

I'm always amazed at the force of nature.

I recognize smoke and burn. California is in the throws of wildfire disasters. the air is bad where we live and when it was 43C last week everyone was warned to not go out.
I do like the haunting, moody feeling you captured in these shots.

Beautiful! Cold and smokey wouldn't have been my guess. I like warm and misty ;-)

Hi, Jenty. I just browsed your PB photos and your recent portraits. Great work! The swans are gorgeous, and you captured such precious shots of the children. I really enjoyed looking through your photos.

Lovely shots, though I hope the smoky haze is soon gone, it did make for beautiful, mysterious photos.

Oh this is wonderful. I love the mist here. The dark foreground with the overcast sky is fantastic!

Hmmmm, very flammable sounds like the state of New Mexico and southern California right now. I can totally relate to your fire danger.

Neat picture though. :)
